Summary:

We are currently beginning a search for our 2021-22 Honorary Resident Wikipedian, and would greatly welcome nominations from those across the UVic community.  Honorary Resident Wikipedians should demonstrate a commitment to the open creation and sharing of knowledge, as well as a familiarity with Wikipedia and its related projects. This role embodies the ETCL’s and UVic Libraries’ commitment to providing accessible structures for local and global interaction, awareness, and connections, as well as increasing engagement with the extended UVic community. As such, Honorary Resident Wikipedians should be available for 2 online or in-person engagements (each engagement consists of a Wikipedia edit-a-thon and a public talk), as well as consultation as needed throughout the term. Nominees are welcome from the UVic community, but we are pleased to consider nominations from other institutions and organizations as well.

If you would like to nominate someone for this role, please do so via this form (https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSe0aLAneynEsZ43A_va0v16Qc1Y7KTpN0Gra1ACGswN_dvlmg/viewform?usp=sf_link), which asks for the nominee’s name, contact details and related information (email, website[s], etc), and a brief description of the strengths they would bring to this role and our community. Nominations are requested by March 31st 2021.
