Outside the Four Corners: Examining Non-Traditional Scholarly Communications: Subcommittee of the CARL Open Access Working Group

abernard102@gmail.com 2014-06-15

Summary:

"Understanding non-traditional scholarly communication and the roles that libraries play in the creation, distribution, and preservation of these materials is a large and complex question. For example, what exactly is 'non-traditional scholarly communication?' What forms does it take, who is engaging in it, and what are academic attitudes towards it? By better understanding the landscape of non traditional scholarly communication (NTSC), we hope to document, promote, and raise awareness about emerging forms of digital scholarship and scholarly communication faculty engage in, and to determine the kinds of supporting roles CARL libraries can play in this endeavor."
