Summary:
"Please join us at ALA Annual for two presentations in the SAGE Booth #743. Refreshments will be served and
there will be ample time for Q & A.
Saturday, June 28 at 11:00am: Cory Tucker, Head of Collection Management at the University of Nevada, Las
Vegas, will be speaking on 'Collection Development in a Changing-Format World.' Light breakfast will be served.
Over the past decade, libraries have shifted their collections budgets from supporting print to
electronic formats, but what new formats does the future hold? In the next decade, libraries will likely
move beyond traditional electronic resources to include more new formats, such as streaming video, data
products, and formats that have not even been invented yet. Join a discussion with Cory Tucker to learn
what the UNLV library has done to embrace these changes, and what he anticipates the future may hold.
Saturday, June 28 at 2:00pm: Jill Emery, the Collection Development Librarian at Portland State
University Library will be speaking on 'Open Access Workflows for Academic Librarians.' Dessert and
coffee will be served.
Are you a librarian involved with the open access workflows in your institution? To learn how to better
support OA on your campus, come listen to Jill Emery discuss Open Access Workflows for Academic
Librarians (OAWAL), an effort to streamline and benchmark best practices related to OA endeavors."
