Summary:

In 2014, an INASP/UNESCO collaboration is encouraging to use Open Access Week to showcase the activities that universities and research institutions within developing and emerging countries are planning and doing. The activities might include:  [1] Creating greater understanding of Open Access or the Open Access movement [2] Increasing wider awareness and use of institutional repositories [3] Promoting and providing training in Open Access resources [4] Showcasing the open source software being used [5] Using the opportunities provided by Open Access policies to create, share and improve access to information and electronic resources [6] Having fun with your own competitions or displays INASP is hosting a competition to provide small contributions of $500 for 10 successful applicants towards these costs. The winners will also have the opportunity to share their Open Access activities via the INASP website, newsletter and the INASP network and all applicants might use www.openaccessweek.org to share ideas and get feedback.
