Summary:

"The White House Office of Science and Technology Policy has posted an open data engagement starter guide for federal agencies and others that may want to host their own open data events, such as 'hackathons, data jams and datapaloozas.' The White House said it has been working to engage existing and prospective users of open government data, showcase their progress, and get constructive feedback, holding a number of data-related events this year, such as a datapalooza at the Department of Education to promote innovation in improving college access, affordability, and completion, as well as a health datapalooza to display health data in action. The guide is published on the White House’s Project Open Data site (http://project-open-data.github.io/#open-data-engagement)."
