Summary:

Use the link to access the survey introduced as follows: "My name is Steve Reitano, and I am conducting a research project on the benefits of Open Data. It is a requirement for my Master’s Degree in Executive Management at Royal Roads University. My credentials with Royal Roads University can be established by telephone with Mr. Don Caplan, MBA Major Projects Manager, (250) 391-2600 ext. 4367. The survey is foreseen to only take 20 minutes to complete. The questions will refer to the social, economic and environmental benefits of open data and transparency from governments and other organizations. Additional information for my final research report will also be drawn from interviews and/or focus groups with Open Data experts from both government and the private sector. In addition to submitting my final report to Royal Roads University in partial fulfillment of my degree, I will also provide it to officials from the Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat who are responsible for the Government of Canada’s Open Data portal (data.gc.ca). It is my hope that the report may help public organization's make sound and informative decisions for extending their Open Data initiatives, and hopefully create a more cost effective, transparent, efficient and responsive government. My findings from my research activities will be shared. An electronic copy of the report, with no public access, will be held for a period of one year at Royal Roads University. In certain circumstances, future MBA learners may review the report, with my permission. The information you provide will be summarized, in an anonymized format, unless you indicate otherwise, in the body of the final report. At no time will any specific comments be attributed to any individual without your prior agreement. All documentation will be kept strictly confidential unless otherwise indicated by you. You are not compelled to participate in this research project. If you do choose to participate, you are free to withdraw at any time without prejudice. Similarly, if you choose not to participate in this research project, this information will also be maintained in confidence. Please feel free to contact me at any time should you have additional questions regarding the project and its outcomes ..."
