Summary:

"The Pilot will produce an open book about the dynamic relationship between photography and other media. Titled Photomediations: an Open Book, the book will use open content and run on open software. The thematic structure of the book will include ca. 10 sections that will act as its 'chapters' (e.g. The History of Photomedia; Exhibiting Light, Movement and Sound) and will feature a web version and exhibitions both online and on location. A call for works to European and global photomedia artists and curators will be performed as well as testing with students, one hackathon to be held in Athens and a symposium. Specifically, the pilot  will contain: still and moving images concerning the evolution and current practices of photography and its engagement with other media; academic and curatorial texts on photography and media. For the purposes of this Pilot, all copyright restrictions will be carefully checked and adhered to. The goal is to make extensive use of material available that uses CC-BY Licence (which lets others distribute, remix, tweak, and build upon the original work, even commercially, as long as they credit the author for the original creation) ..."
