Summary:

[From Google's English] "On Monday the 15th September 2014 by 19 clock place in Vienna on the exhibition ship 'MS Wissenschaft' the event 'Science and Free Knowledge - Fort stepper motor and the Commons of the information society' instead . Wikimedia Austria ,  Wikimedia Germany ,  Wikimedia Switzerland , the  Open Knowledge Foundation Austria and the  Open Knowledge Foundation Germany jointly invite a discussion about (more) openness in science. Promote the event from fund to promote scientific research (FWF). About openness in science is discussed so far only very isolated and restrained by the actors - mostly because negative consequences for the scientific career are feared. These concerns are taken seriously. On the other hand, may not lead to the opportunities and benefits of the new open scientific approach be little or no attention: efficiency through fast feedback, re-use of data, collaborative work in real-time and performance and research non-scientific people. For all this, there are already good examples, of which a selection at the event in Vienna will be presented. Together with the audience and the guests on the podium along the panels to Open Science, Open Data and Citizen Science are more in the spotlight these aspects of science."
