"A group of university libraries urged the Second Circuit on Tuesday to affirm a lower court's ruling that their HathiTrust digital library project is protected by fair use under copyright law, arguing that the authors challenging the project will not be harmed by it. The University of Michigan and others said in their appeal brief that while HathiTrust allows users to search the text of the 7 million books it has scanned, 'the single most important fact for purposes of this appeal is this — [HathiTrust]... '"
