"Students, faculty and administrators at the city’s largest post-secondary institution are hoping to crack open a conversation on the benefits of free textbooks and other academic publication. The University of Calgary’s Forum on Open Access is due to run from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Gallery Hall of the on-campus Taylor Family Digital Library. It comes months after the provincial government committed $2 million to explore options related to open-access educational resources — that is, textbooks and other literature that’s offered up for free online ..."
