"A nationwide online research repository is to be launched by 2015. The program will upload all publicly funded research to a specified website, with the Consortium of Ethiopian Academic and Research Libraries (CEARL) leading the construction of the website. CEARL is an Ethiopian library and research institute consortium that aims to assist and facilitate information access and use in Ethiopian higher learning and research institutes. Initially, the repository will bring together research publications from 25 Ethiopian universities, including major universities such as Addis Ababa University, Jimma University and Mekele University, as well as the bulk of international journals, bought at lower cost. It will then make it available to the public at no cost. The website has a working title of National Digital Repository (NDA). The cost of building the research repository will be covered by CEARL, international funds and member institutes ..."
