"The University Library has now summarized the first full year with its own budgetary support for open publishing . 252 new articles and books received support in 2014. They are now free online for anyone who wants to read. Rector for internationalization, Anne Christine Johannessen , is pleased that so many researchers have sought and received support for open publishing:  - It is very important that everyone gets easy access to our research results, regardless of where they live in the world or how much money they have, says Johannessen. Open publication - Open Access - implies that you do not have to pay to read about new research results. Traditionally it costs a lot to subscribe to journals, including digital editions. Researchers and students at institutions with little money, risking therefore to stand without access to all research in their field. The same applies, of course, everyone else who is interested to immerse themselves in research results ..."
