Summary:

"A number of funders including NERC have issued policies that stipulate research outputs being made available as Open Access. Complying with these policies is not a trivial task: authors find themselves considehttp://www.mba.ac.uk/2015/06/05/open-access/ring questions over copyright, publisher’s restrictions, and versions. Then there are the different OA options (Green or Gold), prescribed timescales, and varying options on licensing works. Given everyone’s lack of time the question arises: do we really need to bother? This talk will provide an overview of these issues with the view to discuss how we should deal with Open Access mandates both individually and institutionally."
