[From Google's English] " ... Especially the market leader Elsevier has a particularly bad reputation. The Library of the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg for example, had in 2013 a list of the 20 most expensive journal subscriptions published - 19 of which were Elsevier journals ... Recently, there on the side of 'Cost of Knowledge' a reference to a new petition, entitled 'Defend your right toshare'. Occasion and addressee is again Elsevier. The publisher had the end of April this year set a new "sharing policy" concerning copyright in scientific journals in force. Accepted for publication manuscripts by Elsevier publications may therefore be made freely available in repositories only after a blocking period of up to 48 months; the period without previously been possible. The Confederation of Open Access Repositories (COAR), an international association of repositories has, therefore, a written opinion against this change and asked for declarations of support.
