Summary:

"Since its founding in 1871, Smith College has provided women of high ability and promise an education of uncompromising quality. Now, offering MOOCs on edX, Smith will be able to reach even more learners around the world. Smith’s first MOOC on edX will examine the psychology of political activism and will explore what motivated women leaders, such as Gloria Steinem, Loretta Ross and others, to want to change the world. Psychology of Political Activism: Women Changing the World is based on Smith College’s  distinctive strengths. Focused on nine leading activists, the course will make extensive use of Smith’s Voices of Feminism collection. At Smith College, a world-class faculty of scholars are fully engaged with their students’ intellectual development. Smith students in collaboration with two Mount Holyoke College students and Smith staff contributed to the development of this MOOC. We are honored to welcome Smith College to edX and share their educational content, collection and perspective with the edX global learning community. Please join me in welcoming Smith and we look forward to sharing more news about their first edX MOOC in the coming months ..."
