Upon review of meeting the high-quality publishing standards of traditional journals, Open Access outlets are candidates for inclusion in expertly curated, high-quality platforms that provide streamlined access to both traditional and OA information in the same system ... This week (October 19 – 25, 2015) marks the 8th annual International Open Access Week, organized by the Scholarly Publishing and Academic Resources Coalition (SPARC) ... At the core of the theme are stakeholder communities. These communities may take the form of movements such as Open Data and Open Standards, or can be rooted in more established research platforms that enable community interaction and quality research. The Web of Science is one such platform, with more than 12% of its core collection database in Open Access journals, many with direct, full-text links to open content (see Figure 1) ... "
