"The policy guidelines for this new post-grant funding initiative state that “The FP7 Post-Grant Open Access Pilot provides an additional instrument to improve access to research results from FP7 projects, but does not affect authors’ choice on how their project publications are made Open Access“. Some questions have arrived via the Pilot helpdesk asking whether this actually means that hybrid journals are supported by this funding initiative, which is of course not the case, as specifically mentioned in the guidelines. This sentence actually means the Green Open Access route always remains an alternative, i.e. depositing in cost-free Open Access repositories. This said, questions have also been received from a number of institutions and OpenAIRE NOADs on whether the Pilot could please make available a list of eligible journals which they can point researchers at who want to have this Gold Open Access funding opportunity in mind when choosing where to submit their manuscripts. At a time when 115 funding requests have already been granted from this FP7 Post-Grant Open Access Pilot, the sample of funded journal titles collected by the initiative has become significant enough to release the list, which is the aim of this post ..."
