Summary:

"A wide range of options are available for faculty who wish to move beyond use of expensive commercial textbooks. Options include openly licensed textbooks which are free and customizable, and resources, materials, and pedagogical approaches which move far beyond consumable textbook formats.   This workshop will introduce attendees to openly licensed content for use in courses, with a focus on textbooks. (Consultations and future workshops will be available for faculty who wish to move beyond textbooks completely. Please contact Anita Walz for more information.) Networked Learning Initiative workshops are free and open to Virginia Tech faculty, staff and graduate students ..."
