Summary:

"Research4Life is a collective name for the four programmes - HINARI, AGORA, OARE and ARDI - that provides low- and middle income countries with free or low cost access to academic and professional peer-reviewed content online.  It aims to reduce the scientific gap between low and high income countries in providing access to the most recent, high quality and relevant scientific publications in the areas of health, agriculture, environment and other life, physical and social sciences. More than 8000 registered institutions in more than 100 countries, areas and territories can access up to 52,000 peer-reviewed international scientific journals, books and databases. Research4Life is a private-public partnership including the World Health Organization (WHO), Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), Cornell and Yale Universities and the International Association of Scientific, Technical & Medical Publishers. Up to 200 publishers are collaborating with the Research4Life and are committed to the partnership in its current form at least until the end of 2020. Up to 7800 registered institutions in 116 countries, areas and territories can access up to 45,000 peer-reviewed international scientific journals, books and databases.
