Summary:

"Research goes on as ever in the lab and in the field. But researchers in today’s Open Access environment have a lot more than only science to think about. For help, OA authors turn to publishers for services that enable discoverability and expand public understanding. This support builds lasting relationships with valued contributors. In a recent Copyright Clearance Center webinar, Kudos co-founder Charlie Rapple shared how that award-winning service maximizes the reach and impact of research publications with trackable links that generate higher downloads, citations and altmetrics. She also told CCC’s Chris Kenneally how scholarly publishers and their authors are using new media and creative information tools to create impact. Charlie Rapple is Sales & Marketing Director of Kudos, which helps researchers and their publishers and institutions to increase the reach and impact of published research. Prior to co-founding Kudos, Charlie was Associate Director of TBI Communications, a strategic marketing consultancy to scholarly publishers and societies. She writes regularly for The Scholarly Kitchen blog."
