Vitae Connections: Supporting Open Researchers — Vitae Website

abernard102@gmail.com 2016-02-21

Summary:

"Researchers are under increasing pressure to be more ‘open’ in their research, through open access publication, open data, and their social media presence. What are the practical implications of providing appropriate professional development and support to ‘open researchers’? How does the pressure to be more open change behaviours? What to make of such factors as the requirements of funding bodies and the REF? This one-day professional development event will focus on developing knowledge and understanding through theory and practice, as well as providing opportunities for networking and discussion. The content will be delivered through expert panel discussions, round table discussions, and interactive workshop sessions. This event is open to all stakeholders with interest in the professional development of researchers in an open research environment, including researcher developers, staff developers, careers advisors, representatives of funding councils and charities, senior academics and managers, research managers and administrators as well as academic and research librarians."
