"On February 9-10, the North-West Europe group of the PASTEUR4OA project held its regional workshop at the lovely buildings of the Fondation Universitaire/Universitaire Stichting in Brussels. During this two-day meeting, two groups of policy makers were targeted: 21 representatives of Research-Performing Organisations (February 9, programme) and 29 Research Funder policy managers (February 10, programme), talked about existing and new open science policies and exchanged ideas and best practices related to open science policies. Both days had similar programmes, although the speakers and focus differred slightly. Both days featured an overview of the Horizon 2020 open access mandate and open data pilot (delivered with admirable succinctness by Jean-François Dechamp and Célina Ramjoué), an overview of the PASTEUR4OA project and its achievements by Alma Swan and Victoria Tsoukala and a workshop session focused on participants’ own open access policies and alignment with H2020 - although in practice the conversations went much broader, towards policy and technical issues and desiderata, and even ended in very lively discussions on these matters ..."
