"The German National Library of Medicine (ZB MED) is committed to ensuring that scientists not only publish their research results but also their research data on the Internet. To this end, it has become a member of the Dryad data repository. On the internet platform research data underlying scientific publications, published quotable. The ZB MED also assumes the costs for two years, for uploading data to Dryad for authors who publish in the open-access platform German Medical Science (gms). The ZB MED operates gms together with the Association of the Scientific Medical Societies in Germany (AWMF) and the German Institute of Medical Documentation and Information (DIMDI). researchers who publish their data on Dryad, thus ensuring the visibility that citability and long-term archiving their research data. All records stored there get a Digital Object Identifier (DOI), a permanent identifier for digital objects. Through the re-use of research data scientists reach beyond that their research results are cited more often. Cooperation ZB MED with Dryad offers authors who want to publish about gms, many advantages: they can have their publications underlying research data in Dryad publish and so provide a wider public. By the mutual citation of articles and research data visibility for both is increased ..."
