Summary:

"Today, the 26th of September, is The European Day of Languages, an initiative of the Council of Europe, which has been celebrated since 2001 to promote plurilingualism across Europe. For the day, a range of events is organised in the whole of Europe to promote cultural diversity, intercultural understanding, and lifelong language learning. On the occasion of the day, Ana Beaven, Anna Comas-Quinn, and Barbara Sawhill officially launch their book entitled 'Case Studies of Openness in the Language Classroom'.  The edited volume, containing 17 chapters, showcases the many ways in which practitioners engage with open resources and practices, and provides ideas for language teachers who might want to delve into Open Educational Resources and Practices. The edited book is freely downloadable; it is also fully viewable in Google Books and available as a paperback and kindle edition."
