[From Google's English] "For years, INRIA is deeply involved in the definition of a policy of open science (Open Access, Open Science). He was one of the first signatories of the Berlin Declaration, and in April 2005 set up a special portal platform HAL-Inria , in order to encourage its researchers will systematically remove all their publications, that 'Whether it's working versions or peer-reviewed.  In 2006, as a signatory to the National Agreement on deposit in open archives, INRIA has accelerated the movement by offering a range of additional services for researchers to improve HAL filing, presentation and dissemination of content.  Recently, following the finding that working in partnership with scientific publishers (private, but also learned societies) became more and more difficult, Inria has established a filing requirement for all publications , so that only items present text full in the HAL-Inria portal be taken into account for the activity reports of its research teams.  In a broader vision where it is necessary to change editorials and economic patterns of scientific publishing, INRIA is involved in experimentation around new platforms such Episciences which, according to a valuation model coupled to deposit in open archives, aims to reduce infrastructure costs and maximize the dissemination and accessibility of scientific productions."
