"The Honourable Tony Clement, President of the Treasury Board, today announced as part of the 2013 Open Government Partnership Summit held in London, England, that Canada will co-chair the newly created International Open Data Working Group. Canada assumes the leadership role alongside the Web Foundation, with participation from key governments and civil society organizations from around the world ... Since joining the Open Government Partnership, Canada has launched an enhanced Open Data Government Portal at data.gc.ca, and introduced a new Open Government Licence that allows for unrestricted commercial and non-commercial re-use of government data available on the Portal. Recently the Government of Canada announced plans for a forthcoming national Open Data appathon, the Canadian Open Data Experience (CODE) ..."
