"The ‘Open Data in Agriculture: Status and Prospects’ conference to be held on the 12th of November in Paris, France is organised by the French Association of IT in Agriculture (President Jean-Pierre Chanet, Irstea) and Joint Technological Network (RMT) Modelia.org, in collaboration with the General Secretariat of the Ministry of Agriculture.This conference will review issues raised by Open Data in Agriculture, will draw up an inventory and will outline prospects for the future.  The French government’s commitment to open data is seen in support to the data.gouv.fr platform, which facilitate the discovery and re-use of public data. The agricultural datasets available include agri-food, weather data, maps, economic series data, and livestock data amongst many others.
