Open Access: Publishers face the academic community

[From Google's English] " ... The complaint Elsevier has led to the suppression of free access to thousands of academic articles shared through the platform to the 6 million users. The latter will therefore warned the researchers involved to signify their withdrawal of their articles, causing an uproar on social networks. For many of these scholars do not seek to live these publications, but are looking for visibility and opportunities for interaction with the community.   Some academic authors denounce accordingly the business practices of Elsevier, which for the last year has displayed margins of 38% to a record 3.2 billion dollars in revenue. They are now calling for a boycott of the specialized publishing house, whether for work that touches like editing to peer review.   The founder of the platform sharing, Richard Price says that if in the past he and his team were accustomed to receive one to two weekly notifications from the publisher, however, the website would have recently received 2800 just two weeks. According to this growth measures from the publisher goes against the aspirations of the scientific community ..."
