Summary:

"Phaedra (Permanent Hosting, Archiving and Indexing of Digital Resources and Assets) was developed by the Vienna University Library together with the central computer science service of the University and is currently involved in several national and international institutions, including the Fund for Promoting Scientific Research (FWF) in use . The program is based on the open-source software Fedora, which was developed for the preservation of digital objects. Phaedra makes a long-term protection of valuable digital content possible and since 2008 online. Objects in all formats may - provided with a permanent identifier, licenses and classifications - be archived. With this repository, it is also possible to very quickly and securely publish. All employees, students and individuals who have an account at the University of Vienna have the opportunity to objects provided with a time stamp and descriptive metadata to archive, and, as far as legally possible to release worldwide. Valuable collections, archival materials, books, pictures, text, video and audio documents can be made available very quickly ..."
