Summary:

"The Faculty of Medical Sciences, University of Campinas (Unicamp) will host on 28 and 29 April the event Chemical Probe-based Open Science: Uncovering New Human and Plant Biology , an initiative of the Structural Genomics Consortium (SGC) and Natureconferences with support from FAPESP. The goal of the conference is to discuss central as organic chemistry can move quickly and significantly, from areas of biomedical science knowledge and plant science ... During the two-day event, researchers from biotech plants, linked to the pharmaceutical industry experts and editors of scientific journalsNature Chemical Biology and Nature Biotechnology  discuss ways to overcome these gaps and use the knowledge already acquired in biomedical sciences to broaden the few discoveries in plant science - and vice versa ... One of the drivers cited by the researcher is that the genome of plants present, as well as the human proteins such as kinases - which means that plants have the potential to save as yet unknown molecules that give rise to the development of new drugs ..."
