[From Google's English] "When the open access movement, with its two green and gold routes reached a certain maturity in the world and mainly in developed countries through enhancing policies open access to the Scientific and Technical (STI) information in all areas, it continues to be under development in the developing countries and in this case in the Arab and African countries. Indeed, the development of this movement in these countries, was prejudiced by the lack of awareness among researchers and policy makers to the benefits it provides in terms of visibility of scientific production, democratization of access to results Research and application of performance indicators in academia. This symposium is a contribution in the effort to propel the open access movement globally and especially in the southern countries promoting reflection on issues related to the role of open access in the commercialization of research scientist, the different approaches and policies related to this new model as well as feedback and the role that libraries have to play in this new landscape. The objective of the conference is to promote the exchange between researchers, academics, and leaders of the documentation in different disciplines to share their experiences, to share the results of their research on related aspects of new models scientific communication based on open access, and discuss challenges and solutions to offer. It will provide an overview on the latest developments in the field of open access to STI and sensitize stakeholders of the benefits of free access to the involved in this movement. Also, there will be an opportunity to build networks of collaborative work between researchers from different countries can initiate joint projects."
