Summary:

"The University of Delaware Library will present a workshop titled “Publishing Toolkit for Graduate Students: Authors Rights and Open Access” on Thursday, Feb. 27. The workshop is for graduate students who publish and face many choices regarding the rights that they either retain or sign away. Open access platforms and journals are emerging as an exciting new avenue for disseminating scholarly works, yet here too scholars face many decisions regarding how best to share their works while still protecting their intellectual property. Workshop leaders will talk about open access and how it will impact graduate students’ research and writing. Ways authors can retain their rights and still publish in the most important journals will also be covered.  Participants will leave with a small toolkit of resources to help them navigate the somewhat unfamiliar world of publishing and open access requirements that they must now address.  The workshop will meet from 3-4 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 27, in Room 116A on the first floor of the Morris Library ..."
