Use the link above to access a pdf of the “Big Data Fact Sheet” released on March 29, 2012 in complement with the announcement of the “Big Data Research and Development Initiative” from the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy.” The fact sheet states: “Here are highlights of ongoing Federal programs that address the challenges of, and tap the opportunities afforded by, the big data revolution to advance agency missions and further scientific discovery and innovation.” The programs listed fall under the following agencies: the Department of Defense (DOD), the Department of Energy (DOE), the Department of Veterans Administration (VA), Health and Human Services (HHS), National Archives and Records Administration (NARA), National Institutes of Health (NIH), National Science Foundation (NSF), the National Security Agency (NSA), and the United States Geological Survey. The fact sheet includes brief program descriptions for each of the programs under each of these agencies.
