Summary:

Columbus, Ohio (September 10, 2012) – Chemical Abstracts Service (CAS), the world’s authority for chemical information, announced today an unprecedented collaboration with the National Institutes of Health (NIH) Library to provide enterprise-wide access to SciFinder. Scientists across NIH can now have on-demand access to the most complete and authoritative chemistry content in the world.  With SciFinder, scientists have access to the world's largest curated collection of publicly disclosed information on chemistry and related research built and maintained by CAS scientists. SciFinder seamlessly links scientists to the CAS databases, providing chemical substances, reactions and other related content from more than 10,000 major scientific journals worldwide, patents from 63 global patent authorities, dissertations, meeting abstracts, electronic-only journals and other reputable Web sources. Scientists can use chemical structures, property values, researcher and organization names, and research topics to explore scientific work disclosed by researchers around the world. ‘We are pleased to be able to expand SciFinder access to all NIH scientists for their full range of research information needs. SciFinder is the best tool for chemistry and related research, and with enterprise-wide access to SciFinder’s unparalleled content, the NIH Library is better equipped than ever before to support the research initiatives within the NIH community,’ said Chris McCue, vice president of marketing at CAS."
