" ... This year, the 8th International Conference e-Society.Mk will address the topic: 'Open Education for an open society – let’s share the knowledge!' and will take place on November 14-15, 2012 at the Holiday Inn hotel in Skopje, Macedonia. The topics of this year’s conference will enable an exchange of experiences, as well as ideas and recommendations for the future development of education, supported by the use of new technologies and the concept of free sharing. The first day of the conference will focus on topics related to open educational resources and open access, and the legal and institutional preconditions for their development in the countries of the region. In addition, one of the sessions will be dedicated to the use of software in formal education, especially open source software. The first day will conclude with recommendations for development and innovations that can be incorporated in the educational process. During the second day, we will cover the issues of building online communities and the Open University concept as an idea intended for higher education. We will also analyze the role of the civil society sector in the process of creating resources used in both formal and informal education.
