Summary:

"The Library and Graduate Division invite the campus community to a public program titled 'Publishers' Views on Electronic Theses and Dissertations (ETDs).' Graduate students and those invested in their professional, academic, and economic development are encouraged to attend. For the first time, UCSB graduate students are being given a cost-free option to make their theses and disseratations available in the Alexandria Digital Research Library, UCSB Library's new digital library (under development), and in eScholarship, UC's institutional repository. If a dissertation or thesis is published online and made freely available, does this hinder the author's future publishing opportunities for that work? ..."
