"NHS staff working in England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland have (for a trial period) free access to articles containing current information about research and best practice published in a massive range of medical and scientific journals. This development follows recommendations in the government-commissioned Finch Report concerning the need for the UK to move towards a more open access research environment. A number of scientific journal publishers have agreed to provide free access for their journals for a limited period. These publishers include AAAS, Annual Reviews, Elsevier, IOP Publishing, Nature Publishing Group, Oxford University Press, the Royal Society of Chemistry and Springer. The NHS Evidence A-Z Journals List offers a convenient point of access to these journals for NHS users in England ..."
