From Google's English:  "In a context where the dissemination of knowledge is hampered by an unbalanced economic model, the French Academy of Sciences and the CNRS (French National Centre for Scientific Research) have signed a co-publishing agreement to develop a diamond-level open access scientific publishing model, free for both authors and readers. This initiative, which takes shape through the Comptes rendus de l'Académie des sciences (Proceedings of the Academy of Sciences), aims to offer an ethical and equitable alternative to the growing dependence of the international research community on commercial publishers."
