CARL Announces Recipients of the Inaugural Fund for Advancing Open Access Book Publishing - Canadian Association of Research Libraries

"The Canadian Association of Research Libraries (CARL) is pleased to announce the recipients of the inaugural Canadian Association of Research Libraries Fund for Advancing Open Access Book Publishing.

Launched in 2026 as a two-year pilot program, the initiative was created to help accelerate the publication of scholarly books in open access by Canadian university presses. The program is funded directly through contributions from participating CARL member libraries and was developed by the CARL Advancing Research Committee in collaboration with the Association of Canadian University Presses (ACUP).

Thirteen titles have been awarded grants of $4,000 to help offset the costs associated with publishing in open access. The funded titles reflect the diversity of scholarly publishing in Canada, with ten titles to be published in English and three in French."
