Project TARA workshop: Identifying responsible research assessment | DORA

peter.suber's bookmarks 2021-10-21

Summary:

"DORA is seeking input to feed the development of an interactive online dashboard to track criteria and standards academic institutions use for decisions that impact research careers. The dashboard will visualize positive trends in research assessment that provide counter-mapping to common proxy measures of success, such as the Journal Impact Factor (JIF), H-index, and university rankings.

This interactive workshop will explore what makes “fair and responsible” research assessment. Participants will work in small groups to discover and categorize examples of good practice as a way to start identifying source material for the dashboard. More information and the finalized agenda will be shared with participants before the event.

The dashboard is part of Project TARA, which aims to identify, understand, and make visible the criteria and standards universities use to make hiring, promotion, and tenure decisions, and is supported by Arcadia – a charitable fund of Lisbet Rausing and Peter Baldwin...."
