Summary:

From Lars Fischer (via Google's English): "The Petitions Committee [of the German parliament] has to process my online petition "Free acquire scientific publications" now complete. The input was an amazing success and has brought me quite a few exciting months brings. Time for a conclusion....Now I'm the chairman of the Petitions Committee, Kersten Steinke of the Left Party received a letter with an official conclusion. With nearly 24,000 supporters and 176 forum posts they heard mostly positive.... The policy is called for, and now the parliament is busy working on a major reform of copyright law that will go specifically to the needs of others in science. And has the resonance of the petition in politics was a pleasant surprise - from almost all parties were positive reactions from the Green Party , the Pirate Party , the Left Party, the CDU , in which particular science blogger Christian Reinboth has very outstanding contribution to the cause and The still doing it, and now also from the SPD . I am confident."
