Summary:

Approach

The workshop will be structured around a series of thematic sessions examining projects' work.  These themes correspond broadly to the component of institutional research data management support services.  Each project has been asked to suggest a theme (or themes) which will best allow meaningful discussion of achievements and challenges.  Sessions will include ample time for discussion.

The workshop will feature a keynote from Geoffrey Boulton, University of Edinburgh and chair of the Royal Society Working Group responsible for the report on Science as an Open Enterprise.

Where appropriate, sessions may be conducted under the Chatham House rule, in order to allow participants to speak frankly about remaining challenges.

Outputs and Outcomes

Outputs will include project presentations and posters.  Staff from the DCC and Jisc MRD Evidence Gatherers will report the sessions through blog posts, as has been done successfully in previous MRD workshops.  Structured sessions to elicit requirements and recommendations for further activity will result in brief reports, initially for internal Jisc use.
