ResearchItaly - Open Access, Road Map 2014-2018 signed

"The aim of the Road Map 2014-2018 for Open Access, signed at the University of Messina by Italian universities and research institutions – including the National Institute for Nuclear Physics (INFN) – is to find an Italian approach to 'open' access to research data in order to encourage internationalization of national research. This initiative, organized under the patronage of CRUI (Conference of Italian University Rectors), was held on the tenth anniversary of the Messina Declaration on Open Access promoted with the purpose of increasing the advantages related to open access publication for the scientific community. By signing this agreement, the participating universities and research bodies undertake to support institutional dialogue, build a national vision to open access to scientific publication, encourage the adoption of policies for depositing digital copies of research products in institutional repositories. This cooperation will help create a national policy for archiving, open access and re-use of research data, in line with the indications of the European Commission for Open Research Data and international standards ..."
