Open Access at the IET - The IET

Summary:

"Following recent announcements regarding the IET’s open access publishing options, the first fully open access papers have been published and are available on the IET Digital Library. Authors of accepted papers in any of our journals now have the option to have their paper made open access on publication. As the UK takes a lead in mandating gold open access for publicly funded research, the IET has put together a publishing offering which gives authors a flexible approach to open access, with a wider range of licences than many other publishers. Authors will retain the copyright to their work and can choose from a range of four Creative Commons licences. Our hope moving forward with this exciting new venture is to engage with the academic community, both authors and administrators, to ensure that our offering is timely and in line with needs and expectations from researchers and institutions. With this in mind we have partnered with Copyright Clearance Center to provide a professional, clear, article processing charge (APC) collection system. We are currently working with them to enhance our initial offering with new features to hopefully reduce the administrative burden, and in many cases confusion surrounding payment of APCs. Please do not hesitate to get in touch if you have any questions or would like help in submitting your paper to The Journal of Engineering, our broad scope fully open access journal, please contact us ..."
