"Research staff and PGR students are invited to find out how the scientific community is using open data sharing to accelerate scientific advancement and discovery. Dr Andrew Hufton, Managing Editor of Scientific Data – a new peer-reviewed publication – will be sharing information about how open access data makes research more discoverable, reusable and reproducible .. He will consider how broader sharing requires credit mechanisms that reward scientists for releasing data and explain how his journal is trying to create better ways of publishing.  The talk will also outline other initiatives underway within his publishing group to promote open data sharing and reproducible science, and will seek input from the audience on the challenges and obstacles scientists currently face when sharing or reusing research data. There will be time for Q&A ..."
