Higher education startup snags $3.8M from investors, including Seattle's Alliance of Angels - Puget Sound Business Journal

"Portland-based Lumen Learning offers collections of low-cost digital course materials based on open educational resources to professors and students as a way to fight the high cost of textbooks and other materials. The company has 28 people, with 21 of them based in Portland.

This latest round of funding comes in part from Follett Corp., which provides education technology, services and content to 70,000 schools. The company operates more than 1,250 campus stores and 1,600 online campus stores."
