Research Data Librarian

"Reporting to the Associate University Librarian of Scholarly Communications and Publishing, the Research Data Librarian will work closely with librarians and research, teaching, and administrative faculty to improve research data management expertise and practice across the University. The Research Data Librarian will provide consultation, leadership, and thorough knowledge of best contemporary practice in research data management to faculty, research investigators and investigator teams, and students. The Research Data Librarian will help researchers create data management plans, determine long-term storage and curation plans for research data, select and use data repositories, and meet funder compliance requirements for data integrity and access. The Research Data Librarian is expected to be active professionally and to contribute to developments in the field. Faculty with the VCU Libraries are evaluated and promoted on the basis of job performance, scholarship, and professional development and service."
