"[FWF] promotes the publication of independent scientific publications in order to make them accessible to a broader public. In addition to monographs, anthologies, proceedings, new formats such as apps, wiki models, scientifically annotated databases, enriched web-based publications through various media (audio, video, animations, etc.) and so on are being promoted.

For new publication formats grants, the FWF a lump sum up to a maximum of EUR 50,000.00 as a subsidy for production costs of new publication formats including foreign language lectures or translation and open access publication."
