Kirstine's bookmarks 2018-06-06

Summary:

From Google's English:

"BIH, Charité and MDC have reaffirmed their commitment to Open Access and signed the so-called Berlin Declaration on Open Access to Scientific Knowledge in May. It is a milestone in the open access movement. This step is also an important sign of support for the ongoing DEAL negotiations.

The project DEAL, under the leadership of the President of the German Rectors' Conference (HRK), should pave the way for a timely transformation to open access publishing under fair and sustainable conditions for all partners involved in the publication process. This includes that all DEAL facilities have permanent full-text access to the entire title portfolio of the publishers Elsevier, Wiley and Springer / Nature, all publications of authors from German institutions are automatically switched to Open Access, and the pricing appropriate and simple , future-oriented calculation model.

Both the Charité and the MDC have terminated their contract with the publisher Elsevier at the end of 2017, as meanwhile around 60 scientific institutions in Germany."
