Summary:

From Google's English:

"In 2016, the European Commission published the concept of a European Open Science Cloud (EOSC). One proposal for the practical implementation of the EOSC is the GO FAIR initiative. The GO FAIR initiative aims to promote the discoverability, accessibility, interoperability and reusability of research data across country and disciplinary boundaries. Its open and bottom-up approach enables the integration of all research areas and EU member states, and aims to make research data jointly usable and reusable in the future. Since research fields today are largely of an interdisciplinary nature, this is a significant added value for the progress of knowledge in data-based research. Germany, The Netherlands, and more recently France, see the GO FAIR Initiative as a suitable trailblazer for the European Open Science Cloud and an Internet of Fair Data and Services. A joint position paper outlines the intention to set up an international support and coordination office to successfully establish the GO FAIR initiative."
